its been since Ramadhan, i had this smell of Durian inside my home... well, the first intake of Durians we got a full bucket dari my aunt.. blakang rumah nya banyak pohon Durian.... den more n more Durians towards the end of Ramadhan.... Then since Mid syawal...majal lagi my parents ani mbali Durian smpai ke Limbang... i got sanak wit d smell till then... Next, come Rambutan and Kembayau.. all for FREE... for Rambutan, my mum peel off d hairy skin of Rambutan and put them dalam kontainer n simpan dlm fridge..so anytime makan sja tarus nda pyah lgi tani mbuka kulit nya...

Kembayau- i googled this short article about Kembayau from this web.

"Kembayau (Canarium odontophyllum) is another fruit unique to Borneo. The greatest diversity is located in Brunei Darussalam and the Brunei Bay region. The fruit has special affinity to Bruneians. Quality fruits have oily yellowish appearance when the outer dark purple skin is removed. The edible portion is the unctuous mesocarp about 6 - 8mm thick that surrounds the hard 3 angular seed. The whole fruit is soaked 5 - 10 minutes in hot water to soften the mesocrap and eaten with sugar. The seed containing the whitish compressed cotyledon can also be eaten. It has a fine flavour, crunchy with rich ‘lemak’ taste.

Kembayau trees grow easily from seeds. There is a 50:50 chance of obtaining female trees. Normally male trees are removed. The presence of wild male trees is sufficient to produce pollen for female flowers.

Demand for the fruit is good and there is significant potential in large scale cultivation"

2nd Official Visit To Kg Ayer

Well this is my 2nd official Kg Ayer Trip... 1st trip was last year with my other colleagues... though i grew up in Kg Ayer.. it never fails to impress me with the unique environment it has...
last year trip includes Ambuyat Feast at Kg Bolkiah, n today's trip includes play hide n seek with the proboscis monkey (lurus ka selling ku ah) simply bengkatan lah...

Sumbiling Eco-Village, temburong Trip 26/3/2009

Went to Sumbiling Eco-village on group tours with my colleagues (and being combined with Katok's students) withh a atotal of about 40+ people altogether. We took the trip, which was offered/organized by Hasa Incentives Sdn Bhd (Warisan Mata-mata, Gdg). U can check their websites Borneoguide.com or Sumbiling.blogspot.com Package of B$55 (Brunei students price) includes: 1.Water taxi from and to bangar 2.Overland transpot (bus) from bangar to Sumbiling eco-Village 3.Morning & Afternoon Tea, and Lunch at the Village. 4.Jungle Trekking, medicinal Plant, River Tubing/Rafting and Fishing So practically what we went through that day were:
7.00am - meet at kianggeh
8.00am - depart Kianggeh
8.45am - arrived at Bangar Jetty
8.45-900am - short break then went on a bus to go Sumbiling
9.40am - arrived at Sumbiling Eco-Village end road, then walked for short distance.
10.00am - arrived at Pondok Sumbiling Ec-Village, and take short break for refresment and briefing by english-speaking tour guide.
10.40am - crossing Temburong river by Temuai (2minutes), then continue jungle trekking about 30 minutes. Some were very slippery spots.
11.15 - Reached Sungai Mutong (tributary of Temburong river), given group activity to build a raft + tube, for river cruising and survival. belumba wah with the other groups, and WE WIN! nasib nda tlapas rakit kami. but only 3 person were to sit on the raft, the rest jdi pengayuh+swimmer. water level that time as low as at your ankle level.. at some point maybe 10 - 15 feet deep.. which difficult for us to push the raft. The tubing back along the Mutong river took about 30 minutes (jauh kali ah).. REAL WET!
12.00 noon - (Going back to Sumbiling Eco-Village) Jungle trekking back to the point where we across Temburong River by Temuai earlier, but this time, we just cross the river ourselves (arus laju..kira bahaya jua sikit la), so here swimming and main-main air came as complementary hehe...
1.00-2.30pm - Freshen up and Lunch and Photoshoot...
3.00 - get back on the bus
4.00 - reach Pekan bangar then on the boat to Kianggeh before 5pm

Today we had a simpel surprise for Ummi (office-mate bukan nama sebenar haha). me and Ms. Pie ordered cupcakes from TasteOnTray.. specially delivered from Lumut (with extra charged of course). her birthday was a nation birthday 23rd Feb. it was simple cupcakes themed the Brunei National Flag. and not forgetting the simple gift for her, the Mug with her face printed on it... luckily she likes it so much.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the other note:
Its been few weeks since my last 'work-out' at Bukit Selilah. Last was on 5th Feb (musim-musim ujan and banjir and landslides). atupun im wearing selipar saja.. (tapi CROCS.. haha nyaman nyamu selipar nya) kes malas and syukur2 sja kn 'work-out'. shall i say workout? haha just bejalan 2-3 kali turun naik. paluh pun nda sampat kan productive haha... Anyway.. at some part of the pathways at Selilah.. there were also landslides at the upper edges of Bukit Selilah. Im sure it is still now.. esuk lusa tah ku melawat hehe. mun ada mood kan exercise jua.. it was like once or twice in 2 weeks... how can i make it as a routine???? help! i need to put off few chalories and fats. FEW??? shall i say i need to put off as much as i can hehhe..

Brunei Coins & Notes

i am very interested in reading one of our truly bruneian blog The Daily Brunei Resources. some of his recent post (re-post) was The Brunei Crest (history and evolution of Brunei crest, which you can see as one of the example, the difference from the $1 Malaya and British Borneo Currency Note from Brunei Resources Post on Money-Not That old Part I, and Money-Not that old part II).

Why i was so much attracted to his article on Money-Not that old Part II? because as soon as i read n saw the $10 note photo, i immediately recall that i have one of a kind. so i re-checked my very few currency collections. i was very upset that i only have a photocopy one (don't blame me for having a '100%-fake-note' (see photo attached below) hehehe.. AT LEAST.. im restoring a little bit of Brunei history and evidences kekekek... sian ah aku ahhowever, i have other few REAL 'Malayan-era' coins (hehehe at least!) but still its not that old though but it has reached a CENTURY of age jua... but im not sure (in fact i don't know) if it was used in Brunei once upon a time ago. the coins below shows:

'1 cent Straits Settlements 1901 (Queen Victoria) & 1904 (Edward VII)',
'1 cent Commisioners Of Currency Malaya 1940 (King George VI)'
'10 cents Malaya And British Borneo 1960 & 1961 (Queen Elizabeth II)' - tahun mama ku lahir, since it says Borneo on the coins im sure it was used in Brunei dulu.
'20 cents Commissioners of Currency Malaya 1950 (King George VI)' - this one i found it by accident (10 years ago? ndaku ingat eh) while betahlil di Kubur dkt Kg Ujung Bukit kh tu blakang Mahkamah bandar. at first it was coated with soil and pyah ku kikis tu see the coin engravement.

so, as we all know these currencies over time will has a higher value. so better keep some for your future sons, daughters and grandchildren to see and keep. who knows like some of our HM's earlier note will sure be valueable in the near future. These are some of my collections (kira zaman duit yg pernah ku pkai la) $1 1978 (akupun alum lahir yet) & $5 1983 (maybe baruku pndai kn belusir ni tahun ani) and very recent $1 1994 before the current plastic note was issued.

hehehe... so what do you have on Brunei notes? manatau yg 1994 ani in future may value $500. not impossible

My brother has just received his letter of official employment last thursday, after ALMOST 2 years waiting, after graduated in 2007 (well he indeed work on part-time basis all this while). thats the good news, syukur alhamdullilah rezeki from Him. the bad news, he is posted to Temburong, Labu estate to be exact, nasib jua nda luan pendalaman banar. but nda apa, if others can survive why not him kan. hehe.. and i can have cuti-cuti Temburong nanti.. ada jua kan di aga..selain dari pusing2 Bandar seri Begawan tah ganya all the time. he just left home this afternoon, safe journey to you.On the other part, i just bought the black dress for 750 coins, the sparkling eyes for 1200 coins, Red scarlet shoes and bracelet for 200 each. hehe.. my main entrance living room just being refurnished. haha i guess im way far too low in points compare to some of my Pet friends. im being addicted to it now (Pet Society), by who? my colleagues of course hahaha... but now i dont have much time to update n upgrade my PS points daily. hehe kn ngalahkn cjul pn ku nda dpt catch lgi ummi... hehe cali ehh game nya ani..

Question: Apakah hukumnya mengukir tangan dengan Henna/Inai/Pacar dibelakang tapak tangan kita? benarkah hukumnya Haram?
Answer: YES! Haram hukumnya. Kerana ukiran yang dibuat pada belakang tapak tangan kita adalah seperti amalan Agama Hindu dan berdosa kita umat islam mengikutnya. Tujuan pemakaian inai/pacar sebenar adalah untuk pemberitahuan bahawa si polan telah berkahwin..... maka, pemakaian inai/pacar hanya dibenarkan pada bahagian jari tangan, telapak tangan & kaki sahaja.....

New Make Up Set??

Its New Year.. some people might replace some of their things and stuff as new stock to start their new life, new environment, new room and even new closet.
i have read about our make set life-span recently in a magazine..which most or some of us are aware of but didn't really bother to do something about it..
So its time to pull out everything inside your make-up bag and clear out some unnecessary and 'expired' items. One might cause irritation or infection to our skin if its outdated already.

lipstick - 3 years
mascara -3 months (wahhh 3 months?? ive got like years haha, sayang bh kn dbuang..apatah lgi seldom used)
loose powder, cream eyeshadow, cream blusher, lipsgloss and liquid concealer - 1 year.
eye pencil, eye liner, lip liner - 3 years
Brush, sponge - soon as colour changed.

huhu... me myself got to clear off some items..but malas n sayang heheh..but will soon take action on my dressing table items.

has anyone know (telarah) limau-candy like this before?? its chewy n 'sugary' for sweet tooth (species gula2 lah jua katakan)... i guess those from 80s n 90s sure experienced eating them. hehehe i was like tekajut jua when i saw it last night dkadai (National Inn to be exact), n said "wow klasik eh style lama limau nya ah, ujud msih rupanya benda ani' i said to my mum. n my mum tarus tsliur nda mau2 nya membali. n it taste like as it was 10 yrs ago, so as the packaging, only that we didn't know if it contains melamine or no hahaha.. dulu-dulu melamine-free concern. hehehe..esuk2 g ku mbali.. tsliur ku msih.. i pack mbe 8 or 10pcs $1.50

Had BBQ and Fun games at cousin's place Daarul Hannaan last sunday 28/12/2008... (tarus bday celebration for 2 cousins) food was great and games was really really fun for both children, young adults and the seniors. everyone was cooperating though we only have simple prizes to give out. Aim was mengeratkan silaturrahim, kemesraan and respectiveness among the family members. a moement to remember for end 2008. at the end uncles and aunts requesting it to be held next year with more 'AJK' and meetings first hehehe.. iski bisdia ah.. for this one few cousins sja meeting for it.

my last weekend spent with sleepover at Holiday Lodge with d girlfriends A n C. Dwn drop by eraly that night n we went to 'lulut n mask' shopping at Pertama. konon2 nada activity kn blulut. A n collegues had function dsana thats why we plan to go for d sleepover.

yesterday afternoon i accompany my mum whos being admitted in the ward (nothing serious, just for body check up, only if they trace something, then a minor operation will be carry out) hope everything will be fine. n last night all d siblings were together dhospital which almost smua kmi bpadat dkatil atu, n when lampung step by step being switch off kmi makin riuh beibun ktawa2. (my mum actually ada 2 option, bleh balik n come again d very morning today, but she chose to stay n sleepover d ward bcoz malas kn bgagas pagi2 buta). anyway will upload on the photos later.

So Dwn, we depend on U (ur schedule) n ckom pun agree udah for the sleepover d Rizqun, nda jdi Empire. BAH WEN SET D TIME N DAY!!!

Ida & Wan Wedding

Bumped into her 3 days before her wedding at JPMC. that time i accompanied Amoy to pay for her gym membership. (Me? had quit gymming about a year sudah yatah mengasuh badan msani hehe) anyway that time when we asked what Ida doing there? n she said she was lost aftr she dropped her Mother in law at the entrance of JPMC and she parked her car.

And she mentioned that she invited us to her wedding through words of mouth from our other friends (which akupn nda ingat siapa yg gtau aku before that yg c Ida kn kawin). To Viv and Kom she did invite us tpi kmi lupa gtau kamu jua (incase kamu nda tau from org lain), invitation card nya abis haha, btw he4r wedding was at Rizqun Hotel. anyway CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF U. i like Ida's baju. cali mun ku tekanang ulah-ulahnya time di MD c ida ani... cuba angkat tangan sapa ampit jdi driver nya? haha (aku angkat tgn) sampai tia kwin jua ahirnya...syukrann

hehe another the very the delay update on Raya Events. it was my very own openhouse at my place on 17/10/2008. most (almost all) photos was taken by my bro... which i find so messy n i dunno ah mcm nda btantu bnr. though candid, tpi most subject2nya membelakangi bah.. yth byk ku delete. so i keep only some which i can tolerate viewing.

i have cold fever nad sore throat these 2-3 days... morning kraja as usual sihat ckit n ala2 sihat.. den balik sja krumh around 4-5pm lately since last week... baru th kluar panas.. body temperature elevating but inside feeling very2 cold! so apa lgi. bebungkus lah dlm selimut without fan n aircond. n today my sore throat get worse.. rasa pain in swallowing n suara pn brubah.. tpi alum tahap suara nda kluar. tpi at times pyah kn bckp n stuck jua tuning suara..coz sakit. menguap pun sakit nda cukup 1 breath... malas spital...grenti jua pnadol n actified kna bagi. so wat i have for self-medication i only take panadol, adam sari n 'air badak' hehe... get well soon to my self...

Hari Raya on 9th Oct 2008, at Viv's crib. we went to Ej's house before Viv, but i ran out of battery so i no pix at all.dwn seems have interest on 'scrapping' that night

i lost count already which hari raya on which days heheh.. bejalan nda beranti, i don't even have time to upload nor transfer all pictures to my lap. thus... i dont have time to update my blog! heheh.. though i have time n i was home, thats the only time i need for my rest n sleep... n its my first time having 3x 'openhouse' events at my place. one ofcourse family openhouse on 1st day hari raya as usual, two was my openhouse for my friends n colleagues n third my brothers openhouse for their friends n colleagues, AND we nada amah this year (our maid balik few weeks before Puasa)... it was so heel-aching this round of hari raya this year.

me dwn n amoy went for shopping [unplanned], amoy sms me that she needs company kn balikn anak buahnya baju raya [3 org babies].. paning like an hour kali kmi d mothercare smpai aku teduduk dlantai coz ngaleh n sangal kaki.. we were arguing on choosing the bajus n laugh out loud like nobody was there to observe our misbehaving.. hehe..kira gauk2 siuk sendiri la kami atu.
then fetched dwn around 5pm, n last minute buat reservation at excapade qlap... again an unplanned sungkai out.. again we blurted out loud laugh till we burts into tears sal ktawa smpai tkrim parut.. mcm tmpt atu nada org lain ktawa..kmi sja ktawa tpi tpaksa kuntrul but nda tkuntrul haha.. at last i cried on sumting wic really hurts me.. coz we talked about many things.. hmm wat past is past... dun let history haunt u as they told me... *sigh* we left Excapade around 8pm? i tink.. then went bali tudongs at Firoz Jaya nearby.. then heading to Mall kn survey kasut/sandal [ntah tuk raya kh nda..asalkn dpt mbali sja n tarus dpt pkai kraja, mcm 4me nada g system bali kasut untk raya, its for all ocassion], while fitting n trying out kasut, panic kmi coz kdai kn tutp pkl 10 udah.. sparuh pintu dh btutp so nda tenang kn milih2.. only me managed to buy 1. singgah kjap Utama Grand mama dwen bkirim loaf of bread.. then heading to kdai Kuminis [photo below] again kmi lalah sal beibun sja cAmoy smpai dduk psal sangal kaki.. guess wat kmi concentrated at the Hindustan Cds area.. coz tiba2 kn mndgr lgu industan haha [tpengaruh msa d kdia Firoz].. mcm all in a sudden we were thinking "aii lama dh nda mlait n mndgr industan" mcm nada org lain wah stepping on Hindustan area atu..so we can sit n LOL as we wished. n i suddenly teringat my mum bkirim ingredients tuk spaghetii... buh kdai mana lgi buka.. luckily Hypermart still buka..they closed around 1130 ktanya.
moral of d story "i miss our time together bgila mcm atu, having so much fun, dun care wat ppl say n think about us that time... soon we will spent less n less time together *sad* hmmmm... sedih ku ehhhhh

last but not least... Amoy requested to watch Hindustan at my cribs tomorrow..so another emergency meeting at my place hehe..paksa th ku meruah ni cd2 legend industan n zaman kgemilangan nya hehehe.. zaman sharukh khan hahha..
well kmi ani jnis masuk smua... nda ambung..kdai makan kaling pn bule.. hhehe

went sungkai out with my family at Amanah Harith, Jerudong which famous for its Malaysian style food. it's cheap [$6.90] n yet delicious n byk jua food nya.. i rated them 8/10********************************************************************
had my sungkai at charcoal lastweek... but went there about 8pm.. so i ate a bit of fried rice at home during sungkai before heading to charcoal. knyang nda jua lapar nda jua hehe.. so as all knew Sungkai Buffet there at $29.90/head... guess what it was all merugikan because i was so tsliur to dine in there n yet i ate only sikkiiittttttt..psal nda g muat parut ah hehe mcm $10.00 sja kali value ku makan atu..rugii eeyyyyyy.. but i am stil want to go there again.. nyaman n puas ati skewers bbq nya... slurrpppp...

food was great.. A LOT to choose.. (cakes nya sadang nyaman) till you drop to think which is which kn dmakan.. i ended up makan meratah2 each but not all (1st photo).. den makan ambuyat (favorite) 2x heheabove pix not to mention cacah ambuyat nya yg nyaman (its ur own preferences la kn menyampur2) BUT.. can u see ada sumting inside? hehe my fren punya cincin gugur ddalam.. psal beibun n buka2 cincin (now u can think its a way of proposing ur lady hehe dlm cacah)

One of my colleague ani will be going to Uk for her master study.. so this was kind of farewell sungkai...

oh yes almost forgot.. my friend book for 10 pax n only 7 turned up. so it was this tragedy when we were about to pay the bills... the person in charge insisted us to pay for 10 person. ngaleh saja booked 2 days in advance. so they prep our desk in emergencywn e ended up dining at the fastfood millineum area.. near the entrance.. not as cozy as indoor area..

i had my sungkai outing with my colleagues at Capers, Qlap last wednesday 10th Sept 2008. It was at $14.80 on Eat All You Can on Pasta and Pizzas only... i dont know how to comment on the food.. because im not really an Italian food lovers.. [mun rasa tsliur kn makan sja beunjar tu]...
anyway before that ada behind the scene tragedy la heheh.. sorry girls.. and it goes like this;
my friend cJ** haha was incharge on the reservation made for our sungkai atu.. at first we were agree on Manjaro [which was just across the road from Capers]... so she made a call n booked under her name... all of a sudden we changed our mind in the morning thaty day.. so i asked her again to make reservation at Capers [which i assumed she called up on Manjaro to for cancellation]... i guess u know what im going to say next hehe..
so actually there were 8 of us.. 2 of us went to Mannjaro.. while other 4 still waiting in their cars at Capers. and another 2 [the usual late comers] of us still on the way at 6pm... so mcm aku ngaleh bcerita kan.. short cut cetaku... yg 2 org d Manjaro ani not aware of the changing venue.. so i called up n asked to go to Capers.. how? they went off one by one hehe.. nasib alum mengoder makanan... skian terima kasih..

i prepared Mee Goreng thai thong *drool*, goreng liking kuasi and sayur labu and minuman koktel buah. well i dont eat nasi for sungkai tadi..as being stuffed with mee goreng sudah.. nyaman hehe muji diri sendiri, mana nda, sendiri pn batah dh nda masak mee grg nyaman, resepi slalu salah alignment heheh...

Last time sungkai at Lemon Grass Qlap *ala-carte*... [malas ku upload pix nya.. krg aku sndiri yg drooling mliattt..even previous food dat i posted pun malar tsliur everytime i scroll down dis blog].. menu was pandan chicken, century egg with basil leaves [my fav], kailan veggie and sambal prawn. it is recommended that u try d pandan chicken n century eggs nya...

i was awaken by my mum's call. asking me to make some drinks for my uncle. Today's morning project was 'mengumbut' at our backyard. They managed to chopped out 3 pokok kelapa sawit and took the lower part trunk where the umbut suppose to be.

stages: potong batang-batang daun pokok kelapa sawit satu persatu, chain-saw sikit demi sedikit dari bhagian bawah batang pokok kelapa sawit, menumbangkan batang pokok tersebut. clear up labih-labihan batang daun yg masih attached. Done!

We had our fireworks view from Kg. Bolkiah A at granny's house and at Jetty 5 [2 blocks away from the house]. Because my cousin requested my company to go there to bring her children for the colourfull skyview. If not i will be just staying at home very tired to go Bandar [in fact i have no plan at all to see the fireworks and float procession], so i just watch them from TV.

So photo portrays view of BSB and part of Kg Ayer, protraiture in granny's house and Jetty 5 surroundings.
Went home almost 11pm. btw on my way to the parking lot at along the jambatan i saw 'shooting star? flying star? meteorites?' mcm i was startled about 5 seconds or so.. then i overheard one of my cousin's son [about 5yrs old] also saw it and asked her mom "mama apakan tu bintang gugur ah?" right after d star lost no where. It was my second time [4-5 years ago kali] to see that natural sky wonders... hmmm lawaaaaaaaa

Last thursday, sampat singgah bakerlyn b4 i went to OngSumping 2do my weekly work there. Bought Carrot Cake (Top pix), and oreo donut with chocolate cream (Pix 2) *slurrppp*

Then b4 balik to my workplace, my colleagues bekirim Cake at Fleur DeLys.. bought chocolate cake nad mud chocolate mousse..nyamaannnnn juaaaaaaaaaaaa..BUT d very d manis!!

And straight ahead meeting my colleagues for lunch at Ez Way Sengkurong (errmm order nya batah kn sampai..berjilid2 bchapter2 udah gossip kmi while finishing up their cakes, alum th dtg order kmi, and menu list byk nda available!) i was awaken by my cousin's call last night about 11pm... asking for my senior colleague's phone number (because he was my cousin's neighbour, and the brother is the owner of cousin's place). He urged me to wake to listen to what he was saying last night (hehe coz paham2lah bgn tdur ani palau..krg lain dtanya lain ku jwap). anyway... he told me that there were thieves breaking in into his house (somewhere in Kilanas)!! He and family was late for home as he was at his in-laws family in Belait. Maybe the burglar/s has already been eyeing on them, tautah diliat nya orang muda ganya laki bini tinggal with the babies.. and often not home. So, the burglars strategically planned their 'work' earlier and waited for the right time... When i sms them early this morning asking for any loss 'duit and amas2an, banyak jua ulehnya'. hmmm ksiiannn...

well the same thing happened also sometime last year at his sister's place being robbed (somewhere in sg.Tilong, if im not mistaken).. her loss was Amas2an (gold jewelleries), babies hamper and clothings (that time ia pregnant), Jubah and Baju Nikah nya. like what baju nikah? it supposed 2b a sentimental value for a woman to keep their Nikah dress..tpi kana curi.. whats the point? untuk dijual? pakai sndiri? to be given to their wife? ishhhh nda juakan mbagi hadiah barang curi.
Whatever the burglars' objectives are... INDA BERAKAL! civic and morals are something that we dont really need to learn and certified. Good deeds and behaviour are natural!!! kenapakan..dzaman yang bertamadun ani masih ada yg berperasaan utk menyusahkn orang atu. *buh im starting to emo*
anyway, MrsKaryawan also told me this morning that yesterday there were two pencuris SIANG-SIANG mencuri rem sport dpn rumah durang (at Tutong). Corolla Merah KN42*7, when asked to the authority, the registration number was invalid and not registered.

Well talking about non-registered vehicles (wah melarat aku ah, hehe), my colleague's car was being hit-and-run by a foreigner (coz there was a witness who saw the incident, and left note on my colleague's car), kreta repair sendiri, plate number checked was a 1976 motorcyle registration, and the car who hit hers was Daihatsu lama.

This is produced by our local entrepreuners, paddy field based in Kg Wasan, and this pack ofberas was harvested in April recently, still new and fresh.to the new generations, if u dont know this.. it is called KEMBAYAU, you have to peel it in stripes before u sinked it in the boiled water for few minutes"SUPPORT OUR LOCAL PRODUCTS"

im transfering all my coins from a chocolate aluminium can into this one Its common to receive souvenir [or luckily souvenirS] from friends who went outside the country during holiday.... nda basar pun damit.. sizes and how costly it is doesn't matter here.. its d FEELING of excitement that matters, when u know you received something from them... and from there also you will feel being appreciated as a friend.. hehe nda ja? siuk nyamu mun kna bagi barang ani.. [sama mcm knk2 kna bagi "angpau" when they knew its only a dollar in it. Just as mentioned by maurina in her blog... when you received a letter/postcard from someone though it sounds classic/traditional.. but its fun.

i remember when i had tabung buluh during my childhood, you know the beige n light yellowish colour.. usually in the old days, this tabung will be hung and nailed on the wall or tiang inside the house... you have to break it from the bottom if you want to take out the whole coins/money inside it and the tabung buluh will be [lets just say] expired hehe...

My First Shepherd's Pie

Spent a day at my cousin's crib last week to learn making Shepherd Pie [from my cousins's wife], because i was so mengidam to eat the pie. And because so gigitan with d small portion of delicous shepherd pie at CheezBox hehe..

First, boiled the peeled potatoes, mashed it with some butter [or milk] minced beef + oyster sauce+ sliced mushroom [gravy: with/without your choice of veggies and tomato lasagne sauce]Put the beef sauces layer [your desired thickess] at the bottom
topped with the mashed potatoes place the grated cheese evenly on top [in my case salah bali cheese, i bought sliced kraft singles cheese :))]
baked it in the oven for 20-30mins until the cheese turned brown.while waiting for me and cousin's wife prepared lunch, and the pie after lunch for afternoon, i had my car washed and cleaned inside out for FREE done by cousin. [antar sja rahnya keta kamu ah haha, ia suka mbersihkn kreta]i enjoyed mine.. cheers [nothing cheers u up other than a good food.. nda ja]

Pulau Kuraman Trip Part1

Went to Pulau Kuraman today with my collagues [some said its stateless, some said it belongs to Labuan. According to the local we had conversation with, it is actually a private island, mainly indigenous people of the Penans/Punan, the population is about 700 people, majority fisherman]. it was SUPER DUPER SIOOKKK!!! [make sure you can swim, because it will limits your excitement if you don't, but its ok, you still have the life jacket] and i am extremely EXHAUSTED now.. so more hardcore pics will be uploaded soon [kalau ku rajin, ngaleh mrusah bh, palau ku sudah ni hhehe].*The trip cost B$65.00/head, a minimum of 8 people per trip.

*Pulau Kuraman: 45 minutes from Empire Hotel.

*Nearby islands are Pulau Labuan [15minutes from Kuraman], Pulau Rusukan Kecil and Pulau Rusukan Besar [both about 5-10minutes from Kuraman].

the overall agendas were:
800-8.30am : gathered at scubatech office at Marine Center at Empire Hotel. [i was the very late comer!]
9.15am : boarding on boat [at the shore next to Marine Center].
10.00am : arrived at Pulau Kuraman
10.00-12.00noon: walking around, getting wet at the beach, photo takings
12.00-1.00pm: Bbq lunch [inclusive the fee].
1.oo-2.00pm : soaked in the water again [you can do any activities you like i.e. main carah or football :)]
2.00-3.00pm : short jungle trekking towards the jetty [again mencabur swimming].
3.00pm : packing, boat ride to snorkel area [kilometers away from the Kuraman, shallow area].
3.20-4.10pm : SNORKELING! [siuukkkkkkk... only about 3meters depth or less].

I dont know i love diamonds or not, but i see alot of beautiful diamonds in jewellery stores (and of course thinking of having one one day hehe), magazines and etc. But there are HUGE conflicts of its origins and how the diamonds are extracted (politically).Ejat.. remember our lecturer Dr. Kalolo? He's from Sierra Leone kan. I have seen the Blood Diamond movie (Leonardo DICaprio) based on true stories of the diamond war in Africa( forgot the title) , and the Blood Diamonds documentary showed in History Channel recently. Hmmm... even the civil war was very very recent, its peak by the late 90s and ended 2001... woohooo... when we were here at peace and them? ksiiiaaannnn eehhh.. war, sexual slavery, child labour, hand and legs amputation, JUST because of diamonds sja tu! And below are taken from Real Diamond Facts.Fact #1: In the past 15 years, an estimated 500,000 Angolans, 50,000 people in Sierra Leone, and nearly 4 million people in the DRC have died from civil wars funded through the sale of conflict diamonds.

Fact #2: A recent study found 46% of miners in Angola are under the age of 16, with many of the children exploited for little or no pay because of war, poverty, and the absence of education.

Fact #3: 300,000 carats of diamonds annually are currently being mined with slave labor in the rebel-held regions in Ivory Coast and sold to fund violent conflicts. These diamonds are being smuggled through neighboring countries to international markets.

Fact #7: The use of child labor for cutting and polishing is extremely common in India, where children suffer from dangerous conditions, overcrowding, and malnutrition. In many areas, one out of ten workers polishing a diamond is a child due to minimal government oversight.

Fact #10:After diamonds were discovered, the San Bushmen were forcibly evicted from their ancestral land in Botswana's Central Kalahari Game Reserve's land they have lived on for thousands of years. The Bushmen have faced torture, severe and routine harassments, and the complete destruction of their water supplies.
