Question: Apakah hukumnya mengukir tangan dengan Henna/Inai/Pacar dibelakang tapak tangan kita? benarkah hukumnya Haram?
Answer: YES! Haram hukumnya.

*for us to think about it*

  1. Hi there missy, it is well and interesting to know all these facts. But what I personally dislike about these practices of defining what belongs to which religion and emphasising how wrong it is to do it if you don't belong to that religion is simply because its just a a little annoying. Why have we got to look at the diffenrences and fight over things, why can't we just settle on what we share in common, for example the fact that we're all just human and what is wrong with sharing traditions? Yes it is in their traditions, but doesn't the Qur'an (and by that God aka Allah) mentioned that we are deemed not to condemn other's practices and religion?! By doing this i.e. categorising their practise as HARAM in a sense condemning them?! And I tell you what, I just read an article mentioning that henna actually contain anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-haemorrhage properties thus henna could be used to treat athlete's foot, fungal skin infectiona and inflammation. And as you might have known, henna also contain natural ingredients which is vital for hair nourishment. Now, yes you are talking about the action decorating the back of one's hand using henna. See going back to my argument earlier, saying that this action belong to other religion and it being haram to do, doesn't that make you (or us or who ever wrote the article you read) a little bit condemning of other's religion and isn't this beign hostile and doesn't islam not forbid hostility? Is it not much better to live in harmony with each other? Yes we might have our differences, but have we sat down and wonder how much we have in common? And don't we also wonder how much of our culture are actually inter-related? Take songkok as an example, isn't that a piece of clothing that we inherited from when we were practicing hinduism back in our history before the country as a whole converted to islam? And if you search into more detail, you'd be surprised in how much of our tradition that we treasure so much is interlinked... I hope this arguments does open-up one's mind into thinking about all the suggestion of keeping a more harmonised life, there's no point in focusing how different we are from each other and fighting for it when we can share share and treasure what we have in common! There you go, just a piece of my mind... God Bless!
